A Half Day Responsible Pharmacist is needed for a Small Scale Wholesale/Distribution Environment for Complementary Medicines as follows:

  • Gross CTC Salary: R18,000 – R20,000 CTC per month (depending on experience)
  • Working hours: Mon-Fri: 8:30am to 1:30pm
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Leave: 15 working days
  • Requirements: 2 years retail and 1 year Wholesale/Distribution. Experience with MCC registrations/inspections will be advantageous. A completed GWP course would be advantageous. Previous RP experience will be advantageous. Strong leadership/management skills.

  • Summary of Job description:
    1. Legal Requirements – This Half day position is for a medium sized Complementary Medicine Distribution facility. To fulfil the complete role and responsibilities required by a Responsible pharmacist for a distribution facility. This position provides exposure to Distribution, manufacturing as well as regulatory work. Ability to understand the changing regulatory environment and develop appropriate response. Ideally you should be interested in a half day position and be willing to grow with the company and learn from the various aspects that you are exposed to. Strong leadership skills are required as you would work closely with the directors and other stakeholders, including the MCC and SAPC. Ability to travel
    2. Quality Management – To fulfill complete role and responsibilities required of a Responsible Pharmacist. Manage and supervise all aspects of distribution pharmacy. Implementation of SOP’s, Good manufacturing and Distribution Practice, Quality control (QC), Quality assurance (QA) and Quality Risk Management. Stock management.
    3. Regulatory Compliance – Preparation for MCC and SAPC inspection. Assisting with dossier preparation. Liaising with MCC. Ensure compliance of all products with current legislation. Understanding and implementation of all new legislation relating to CAMS
    4. Product Support – Provide technical information to colleagues, customers, healthcare professionals. Respond to product related queries from colleagues, customers, healthcare professionals. Assess and ensure compliance of marketing campaigns
    5. Pharmacovigilance – Reporting of adverse events. Training of sales representatives and other staff on pharmacovigilance procedures and reporting. Periodic Safety Update Reports submission on request from the MCC
    6. Training – Provide training and ongoing education to sales representatives. Preparation of product training material. Evaluate technical competencies of sales representatives. Provide effective medical information and support for new and existing products

A Part time Pharmacist (ideal for a retired/semi-retired) is needed for an Independent Retail Pharmacy Group based in KZN – Durban CBD, Pietermaritzburg, Port Shepstone, and Richmond:

  • Days required: 2-3 days per week
  • Hours required: Mon-Fri: 8am – 5:30pm, and Sat: 8am – 5pm
  • Gross salary/hourly rate: Negotiable depending on experience
  • Requirements: A min of 1 year of retail pharmacy experience
  • Duties: All dispensing functions, stock responsibility for dispensary, and acting as RP if necessary
  • Start date: ASAP
